Position SummaryWe are seeking a motivated Summer Intern to support our work across development (fundraising), political affairs and advocacy, communications, and administrative operations. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment ideal for a college or graduate student interested in gaining broad nonprofit experience. The intern will work closely with staff across functions and contribute to high-priority projects.Location & Schedule• Remote (U.S.-based), with strong preference for candidates based in NY or DC.• 40 hours per week between May-August (flexible; part-time considered but preference given to full-time candidates)Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment (Fundraising)• Assist with managing contact management system to track donors• Research prospective donors• Help prepare fundraising materials and event support (virtual/in-person as applicable)Political Affairs and Advocacy• Assist with planning and execution of program activities• Help coordinate with partners and participantsCommunications•Update website content and program materials
• Assist with storytelling (blogs, impact stories, light design)• Track engagement metrics and suggest improvementsAdministrative & Operations• Provide general administrative support (calendar coordination, note-taking, file organization)• Maintain shared documents and internal systems• Support special projects as needed across the organizationQualifications• Current undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate)• Strong writing, research, and organizational skills• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines• Interest in nonprofit work, public service, or our mission area• Familiarity with the following tools area a plus: Microsoft Office; project management tools; experience with CRM systems, social media platforms, or basic design tools (e.g., Canva)• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate proactively• Mentorship and regular feedback from staffCompensation• Stipend of up to $2000 a month available• Flexible schedule and supportive remote work environment
