Adjunct Faculty – Faculty-Led Study Abroad

ILI Travel is seeking an educator to lead a short-term, faculty-led study abroad program in the Dominican Republic centered on the course “The Sociology of Crossing Cultures” 

Role Overview

This position is ideal for a high school teacher, college faculty member, or Jewish or other community educator interested in combining academic instruction with immersive, experiential learning abroad.

The faculty member will:

• Teach and lead the course
• Provide pre and post trip classes
• Facilitate student reflection and discussions
• Recruit and enroll a cohort of students
• If college-based, coordinate with their institution to ensure credit approval

ILI Travel manages travel logistics, allowing you to focus on teaching and mentorship.

Program Details

• Length: ~8-12 days in-country (plus pre/post class meetings)
• Timing: January term or summer (flexible)
• Location: Dominican Republic
• Credits: 3 (Gratz College partnership)

Compensation & Support

• Compensation ranges from $3,500–$8,000, depending on enrollment
• All travel expenses covered (airfare, housing, most meals, transportation)
• Full program coordination, on-site staff, and risk management provided

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher 
• Experience working with high school or college students
• Ability to recruit students through a school, university, or organization. Minimum of 12-15 students. 
• Interest in experiential and cross-cultural education
