Uri L'Tzedek is an Orthodox social justice organization guided by Torah values and dedicated to combating suffering and oppression. Through education, leadership development, and direct action, Uri L’Tzedek empowers the Jewish community to create a more just world.

We are seeking a Washington, D.C. (or greater D.C. area) based, remote Advocacy & Leadership Program Coordinator to join our growing team. This role will combine back-end operations with front-facing leadership responsibilities, including overseeing fellowships, classes, and advocacy initiatives. This role will spearhead Uri L’Tzedek’s advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C., ensuring that an Orthodox Jewish voice is represented in critical conversations around social justice.

The ideal candidate is a people person with strong organizational skills, a passion for social justice through a Torah lens, and the ability to manage both administrative and programmatic responsibilities.

Programmatic & Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and managing partnerships with policymakers, faith leaders, and advocacy organizations.
  • Representing Uri L’Tzedek at local coalition meetings, legislative discussions, and community engagement efforts.
  • Developing and implementing advocacy initiatives that align with Uri L’Tzedek’s mission.
  • Coordinating and hosting Uri L’Tzedek’s virtual classes and programs.
  • Leading fellowships and interns.
  • Developing and refining fellowship curricula.
  • Recruiting participants for fellowships, internships, and leadership programs.
  • Identifying and engaging potential speakers and community partners.
  • Promoting our programs through various platforms and outreach efforts.

Administrative & Operational Tasks:

  • Overseeing social media strategy and content creation.
  • Designing promotional graphics using Canva for events and campaigns.
  • Handling event marketing, logistics, and outreach.
  • Maintaining relationships with Jewish social justice partners.
  • Supporting grant writing and fundraising efforts.
  • Assisting with hiring and recruitment processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve, particularly with technology and digital tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with Orthodox Jewish culture and Torah study.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of nonprofit work experience.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of social justice engagement.
  • Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, Zoom, and LGL or other donor management software is a plus.

Key Details

  • Compensation: $50,000-$75,000 annually based on experience, with growth potential based on development and fundraising successes.
  • Benefits: Health Insurance Support and Dental Insurance
  • Location: Remote, but must be based in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Start Date: Flexible
