High School English Teacher

Abraham Joshua Heschel School seeks a full-time high school English teacher for the 2026-27 school year.  The ideal candidate--a lover of literature, a close and careful reader, and a dynamic presence in the classroom--is skilled at engaging students in text study, fostering rich conversation, and motivating students as readers and writers. A willingness to work collaboratively in a small, collegial department is important too. He or she also has experience as a teacher of writing who has generated varied and challenging writing assignments.  The candidate must be able to teach creatively at various grade levels, and must be effective as a student advisor.  An MA in English or a closely related field is preferable.

The full-time equivalent salary range is $65,000 - $95,000, depending on years of experience.
