Organization: American Friends of Meir Panim

Location: Remote

Reports To: Director of Development & Marketing

Compensation: $35 to $65 per hour, depending on experience

Time Commitment: 10 to 20 hours per week to start, with the potential to increase up to 40 hours per week during peak fundraising periods including Passover, the High Holidays, and end-of-year

Position Overview

AFMP is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Contract Grants & Institutional Funding Manager to support foundation fundraising efforts. This role reports to the Director of Development & Marketing and is responsible for researching, writing, submitting, and managing foundation grant applications, as well as helping strengthen and organize AFMP’s overall grants process. The ideal candidate has a strong background in foundation grant writing and enjoys building efficient systems to support long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify prospective foundation funding opportunities aligned with AFMP’s mission and programs

  • Write compelling, accurate, and timely foundation grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports

  • Manage multiple grant applications and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring all submissions are complete and compliant

  • Track grant submissions, awards, reporting requirements, and renewals

  • Collaborate with AFMP staff to gather programmatic, financial, and impact information for proposals and reports

  • Assist in reorganizing and improving AFMP’s grant management system, including documentation, timelines, and internal processes

  • Support increased grant volume during peak fundraising periods

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience writing successful foundation grant applications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

  • Experience managing grant pipelines, deadlines, and reporting requirements

  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills with close attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote, part-time contract role

  • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising and grant management systems preferred

  • Experience improving or building grant tracking systems is a plus

Schedule and Compensation

Part-time 1099 contract role, starting at 10 to 20 hours per week

Flexibility to increase up to 40 hours per week during Passover, the High Holidays, and end-of-year

Must be available during East Coast business hours to coordinate with a supervisor based in Mountain Time

Hourly rate:

  • U.S.-based contractors: $35–$65/hour, commensurate with experience

  • Israel-based contractors: starting at $25/hour

Rates are commensurate with experience
