POSITION SUMMARY:

Valley Beit Midrash is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Marketing & Communications Manager to help grow our audience, strengthen community engagement, and elevate the visibility of our educational programs, volunteer initiatives, and humanitarian work.

This full-time, in-office position will lead VBM's marketing and communications efforts, including email marketing, social media, website content, digital storytelling and print materials. The role also includes supporting volunteer programming, community events, and general administrative operations.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong writing and organizational skills who enjoys both creative work and hands-on community engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILIES:

Marketing & Communications

  • Lead the organization's marketing and communications efforts across digital and print platforms.
  • Promote VBM's educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and community initiatives.
  • Create engaging content that shares VBM's mission, impact, and stories.
  • Support fundraising and donor communications through marketing and outreach.
  • Help strengthen VBM's brand and expand its reach within the community.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and execute marketing strategies that advance organizational goals.

Community Engagement & Volunteer Management

  • Assist with volunteer programs and community engagement initiatives.
  • Support educational programs and special events.
  • Help cultivate relationships with volunteers, participants, and community partners.
  • Represent VBM at community events and outreach opportunities as needed.

Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the office.
  • Assist with organizational communications, mailings, and special projects.
  • Support the President & Dean and other staff with administrative and operational needs as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit outreach, or a similar professional role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or nonprofit outreach preferred.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Zoom, Canva (or similar design software), email marketing platforms, website content management systems, and CRM software, or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Professional, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor.
  • Alignment with and commitment to Valley Beit Midrash's mission and values.
  • Familiarity with Jewish culture and the Jewish community is preferred.
  • Must be located in the Greater Phoenix area and able to work onsite.
  • Background check required.

STRUCTURE, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and Sundays for programs and events
  • In-office position based in Scottsdale
  • Annual salary of $45,000
  • Health insurance with generous employer contribution
  • Paid time off: 10 vacation days per year, plus numerous paid federal and Jewish holidays (when they fall on weekdays)
