The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, ?, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

 

Position Summary:

Jewish Union Foundation is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented professional for the position of Community-Based Services Coordinator. This role oversees the day-to-day coordination and supervision of Community Habilitation and Respite services, ensuring high-quality support for individuals and families while maintaining compliance with documentation, billing, and service delivery requirements. This role is a full-time, in-office position based in Brooklyn, with minimal travel.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee data collection, attendance tracking, and billing-related documentation for Community Habilitation and Respite services
  • Collect, organize, review, and maintain routine paperwork in compliance with agency and funding requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with individuals served, families, and Care Managers
  • Provide direct supervision of Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s)
  • Recruit, onboard, and support the hiring of new DSPs
  • Review individual goals, attend Life Plan (LP) meetings, and complete follow-up paperwork, including signing Life Plans and updating Staff Action Plans
  • Connecting with Care Managers, schools, and families with purposes of increasing Respite and Com Hab supports and respite supports
  • Track and monitor authorized service units for Community Habilitation and Respite to ensure services are delivered within approved limits

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with OPWDD services
  • Supervision Experience
