About the Role

Kane Street Synagogue is seeking a creative, highly organized, and detail-oriented Communications Associate to support the synagogue's communications and community engagement efforts. This part-time flexible, primarily remote position is ideal for someone who enjoys both creative and administrative communications work. Working closely with the Director of Engagement, the Communications Associate will help bring synagogue programs, events, and community initiatives to life across email, web, print, and social media. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects with care and consistency in a fast-paced community environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and coordinate synagogue communications across email, print, and digital platforms using Shulcloud, Canva, Mailchimp and other platforms as needed
  • Write and edit clear, engaging content for programs, events, and community initiatives
  • Maintain website content, including event listings, registration information, images, and calendar updates; draft and update website pages and other written materials as needed
  • Assist with social media content creation and scheduling
  • Help maintain consistent branding, organization, and communication systems across departments and programs

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines independently and follow through with strong attention to detail
  • Strong eye for design, branding, and visual communication
  • Comfort with web platforms (e.g. Wordpress, and some HTML is helpful)
