Job Description:

YSZ High School for Girls is seeking a teacher for 9th-12th grade English.   The ideal candidate will be a warm, creative and dynamic educator who can facilitate academic growth, deep critical thinking and intellectual curiosity.  We seek educators who value collaboration, professional learning and community.  

Responsibilities:

• Design engaging, student-centered learning experiences that inspire a love of reading, writing, discussion, and critical thinking. 
• Teach 9th–12th grade English courses, including a rotating cycle of AP English Language and AP English Literature. 
• Help students develop the skills to think deeply, communicate effectively, and navigate an ever-changing world shaped by technology and AI. 
• Explore with students how AI can be used thoughtfully as a tool for learning, creativity, research, and revision while strengthening independent thinking and intellectual integrity. 
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and foster student growth. 
• Create a warm, student-centered classroom culture that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and meaningful participation. 
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, student support, and school initiatives. 
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school programming

Qualifications and Skills:

• Warm, enthusiastic educator who is passionate about working with teenage girls. 
• Committed to helping students grow academically, personally, and emotionally. 
• Open to or experienced in student-centered and inquiry-based learning. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• A collaborative team player who values professional learning and continuous growth. 
• Comfortable integrating technology and working with AI tools to enhance teaching and learning. 
• BA in English, English Education, Education, or a related field required.
• MA strongly preferred. 
• 1–3 years of teaching experience preferred.

Salary for a full-time position range from $70,000-$100,000, commensurate with a candidate’s experience, education, and course load.
