Congregant Care & Tikkun Olam Coordinator:
Part-Time Position (20 hours/week)

Temple Isaiah, a thriving Reform Jewish congregation in Lexington, Massachusetts, with approximately 750 households, is an innovative, relationship-centered congregation that offers a broad range of spiritual, educational, social, and social justice experiences to engage people of every age, stage, and background. As part of the Temple Isaiah staff, the Congregant Care and Tikkun Olam Coordinator will assist the Congregant Care Leadership Team in communications and coordination for the congregant care activities of the synagogue. This Coordinator will also assist the Social Action Leadership Team in communications and coordination for the social action activities of the synagogue. 

This position will help to maintain the general workflow, provide quality information to others, represent Temple Isaiah in a professional manner, and contribute to a friendly and enjoyable work environment.

The Congregant Care and Tikkun Olam Coordinator is responsible for the following:

Project Management and Administrative Responsibilities: 

  • Significant liaison work between clergy, staff and congregants, including regularly attending meetings with individual temple members or committees. 
  • Management of congregant care communications, including establishing and maintaining a volunteer and congregant-needs’ database, coordinating quarterly meetings of the leadership team, and managing occasional programs. 
  • Management of social action communications, including shepherding clergy and lay leaders through a communications schedule, posting on social media, editing, and newsletter setup.
  • Scheduling meetings across complex calendars, including gathering data through email, calls, and polls, sending calendar invitations, creating links, and sending reminders.
  • Working with ShulCloud database.

 

Required Skillset : 

  • Exceptional administrative skills including time-management, budget management and calendaring 
  • Strong verbal and written communication ability 
  • Detail-oriented, able to think proactively, to prioritize work and to work independently 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task 
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and work with staff across multiple departments 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer service experience preferred 
  • Excellent computer skills, with the capability to master new software applications and technologies in database management; experience in Constant Contact, Microsoft Outlook, Canva, Google Docs, Doodle (or similar) preferred
  • An eye for graphic design
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, friendly environment 
  • Comfortable talking with clergy team, staff, and lay volunteers 
  • This position requires a highly professional demeanor and the ability to handle confidential materials with discretion

Compensation and Benefits

  • The salary range is $30,000-$33,000 and will be commensurate with experience
  • Temple Isaiah is closed for up to 11 federal holidays and 8 Jewish holidays and closes at 2:00pm on Friday.
  • The position is open as of April 1, 2026. Flexible start date.
