Inclusion Consultant

Larchmont Temple, a Reform Jewish congregation in southern Westchester NY, is seeking a part-time Inclusion Specialist in our KESHER (K – 7 Religious School) program. KESHER meets four days a week in-person:

• Sunday mornings, 10 am – 12 pm, Kindergarten – Grade 2
• Monday afternoons, 3:30 - 5:30 pm, Grades 3, 4 & 5
• Tuesday afternoons, 3:30 – 5:30 pm, Grades 6 & 7
• Wednesday afternoons, 3:30 – 5:30 pm, Grades 3, 4 & 5

We believe every child is made B’Tzelem Elohim – made in the image of God – and should be seen, supported, and celebrated in their Jewish learning journey. The Inclusion Consultant collaborates with educators to provide inclusive neurodiverse affirming classroom environments to create individual learning goals and develop effective accommodations. The Inclusion Consultant may model supports in the classroom to support the students.

The Inclusion Consultant reports to the Assistant KESHER Director and is supervised by the Senior Director of Education, Youth and Families.

General Schedule and Hours: Hybrid schedule of 10 – 12 hours a week with both on-site direct support, coaching and consultation for staff paired with remote meetings with families and additional consultation with staff, supervisors or with family consent to collaborate with school or private providers.

Family Partnership

• Review KESHER registrations to identify any learners who may benefit from additional learning support 
• Collect and review IEPs, 504 Plans, or other relevant documents
• Meet with families to understand learner needs and co-create individualized support plans with educators

Educator Collaboration

• Consult with KESHER Assistant Director and Senior Director of Education, Youth and Families to partner in how to best address and support individual learning issues
• Share relevant learner information with educators ahead of the school year, upon enrollment, and as more information is gathered during the year.
• Collaborate with educators to adapt lessons and incorporate strategies that support varied learning styles.
• Provide consultation and coaching to educators to identify and model effective strategies.
• Provide guidance on differentiation, inclusive neurodiverse affirming classroom practices, and available resources.
• Support student transitions between grades.
• Co-lead professional development sessions focused on inclusive neurodiverse affirming strategies

Student Support

• Observe learners and groups as needed
• Coach faculty and staff for targeted support (in-class or pull-out) for academic, social, or behavioral needs.
• Model inclusive neurodiverse affirming, activities that reflect a variety of learning styles and strengths.
• Promote classroom environments where all learners are respected, valued, and celebrated.
