LA Shaimos is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented part-time team member to assist with shaimos collection and transport. This role involves picking up shaimos from homes, schools, synagogues, and organizations, packing materials when needed, and transporting them to our warehouse for proper handling.
This is a hands-on, independent role ideal for someone responsible, organized, and comfortable working in the field while interacting professionally with members of the Jewish community.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive to scheduled pickup locations across the Los Angeles area
• Load, transport, and unload boxes of shaimos safely
• Pack shaimos on-site when customers request packing assistance
• Ensure boxes meet size and handling guidelines
• Take photos and record box counts to ensure accurate pricing and billing
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers during pickups
• Drop off collected shaimos at our warehouse or designated locations
• Follow all handling guidelines and instructions provided by management
Requirements & Skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Ability to lift and carry boxes (up to ~40 lbs)
• Strong reliability, punctuality, and follow-through
• Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
• Clear communication and professional demeanor
• Attention to detail and respect for sacred materials
• Familiarity with the Jewish community and its institutions
Nice to Have (Not Required)
• Prior delivery, moving, or field operations experience
• Experience working with schools, synagogues, or community organizations
• Availability during high-volume periods (especially before holidays)
