Through immersive camp experiences and intentional individualized attention, campers build friendships, confidence, and leadership skills in a culture rooted in mutual respect and personal growth. By engaging in Jewish living and learning about Israel, campers develop the knowledge and independence to form meaningful, authentic connections to Judaism and Israel.

This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-driven professional passionate about Jewish life, youth engagement, and community building.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for families navigating registration and engagement

Community Outreach & Event Leadership

  • Plan and lead recruitment events across Chicagoland and nearby Jewish hubs
  • Cultivate partnerships with synagogues, JCCs, Jewish day schools, youth movements, and other community organizations in Chicagoland area
  • Collaborate with the Community Relations Director on recruitment marketing, communications, and social media outreach
  • Represent CYJ Midwest as an ambassador at community programs, camp fairs, and regional events

Data & Growth Strategy

  • Track enrollment trends and maintain organized family engagement data
  • Support CYJ Midwest’s long-term growth strategy by contributing to enrollment planning and achieving defined recruitment and retention goals
  • Maintain database (Campminder, Sheets) of recruitment sites, contacts, families, and campers for recruitment and communication purposes

Jewish Journey Engagement

  • Support families in navigating pathways from CYJ Midwest to teen leadership experiences, Camp Tel Yehudah, and Israel programs and Israel Programing in collaboration with other Young Judaea Global staff

Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrated success in recruitment, community engagement, or relationship-driven roles within nonprofit, camp, educational, or Jewish communal settings
  • Organized self-starter able to manage multiple initiatives independently and collaboratively
  • Deep connection to the Chicagoland Jewish community
  • Experience in Jewish camp, youth programming, or education preferred
  • Comfort working in pluralistic Jewish settings; connection to Israel a plus
  • Five years of relevant professional experience

Additional Details

  • Flexible, results-driven schedule with variable hours, including evenings and weekends for recruitment and community events
  • Occasional regional travel and limited summer visits to camp in Wisconsin
  • Salary range: $40,000–$50,000, commensurate with experience, plus performance incentives (per recruitment numbers), camper tuition discounts, and professional development opportunities
