Judiacs Teacher and Director manages the vision, curriculum, and staff for Orthodox Jewish studies and Hebrew language programs in a school, focusing on instructional leadership, curriculum development (integrating text, culture, values), teacher supervision, parent engagement, and creating joyful, inclusive Jewish experiences, often involving holiday programming, prayer services (tefillah), and Israel education, requiring strong pedagogical skills, leadership, and communication, often working closely with clergy and school administration. 

Our school runs an Orthodox, Jewish Zionist program. Applicant need to adhere to school Hashkafa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum & Instruction: Develop, implement, and oversee innovative curricula for Hebrew and Judaic Studies, integrating Jewish texts, values, history, culture, and modern pedagogy (like experiential learning).
  • Leadership & Supervision: Lead and mentor Jewish Studies and Hebrew teachers, providing professional development, observations, and growth-oriented feedback.
  • Program Development: Plan and lead school-wide Jewish life, including prayer services (tefillah), holiday celebrations, and special events, often collaborating with clergy.
  • Community & Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, coordinate family education, and foster an inclusive Jewish environment for diverse learners.
  • Israel Education: Develop programs and resources to foster an appreciation for Israel, potentially including coordinating school trips.
  • Administration: Managem program budget, track student progress, handle program logistics, and report to senior leadership (Head of School/Rabbi). 

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong background in Jewish studies, values, and culture.
  • Expertise in educational leadership, curriculum design, and pedagogy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and lay leaders.
  • Experience with technology, data-informed decisions, and inclusive practices. 

This position in a small school will require different hats from time to time, such as helping in the classroom during lunch break or outdoor play. Helping organizing holiday celebrations or staff meeting.

Preferred Qualifications:
A holder of a BA  degree in any subject (completed)
Willingness to take further training and qualification for professional training. 
Knowledge or interest to learn about  the Montessori method is a preference
Commitment to working with a team always striving to model professionalism and collaboration in service of the school’s mission and children
Experience with fostering and maintaining supportive and professional relationships with enthusiastic and interested parents
Work permit to work in the USA

Salary:
$62,000 – $82,000 annually depends on experience
This is full-time teaching position with summers off.
