Description

Beth El is seeking a warm, organized, relationship-driven professional to serve as our New Member Experience & Outreach Coordinator, a key role focused on helping people feel welcomed, connected, and rooted in our vibrant synagogue community.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, managing details with care, and creating meaningful experiences that help people find belonging. The Coordinator will play a central role in both engaging prospective and new members and supporting synagogue-wide communications and programming.

What You’ll Do

Create Meaningful New Member Experiences

You’ll help shape and implement Beth El’s welcoming and engagement strategy by:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for prospective and new members
  • Guiding individuals and families through the membership journey
  • Providing synagogue tours and coordinating meetings with clergy and staff
  • Building authentic relationships with members during their first years at Beth El
  • Helping foster new chavurot and social connections among members
  • Supporting outreach and retention efforts that strengthen community belonging

Coordinate Programs & Events

You’ll help bring community experiences to life by:

  • Planning and executing new member gatherings and engagement events
  • Supporting synagogue-wide programs and celebrations
  • Collaborating with staff to develop marketing and membership materials
  • Assisting with event logistics, attendance tracking, and follow-up communications
  • Representing Beth El at programs and events to ensure a welcoming atmosphere

Support Communications & Operations

You’ll play an important role in keeping synagogue communications accurate, timely, and engaging by:

  • Preparing weekly email communications and Shabbat announcements
  • Editing and posting clergy sermons online and on social media
  • Updating website and Facebook event pages
  • Managing Zoom links and program reminders
  • Running Salesforce reports and maintaining accurate event registration data
  • Assisting with milestone communications and community recognition efforts

Qualifications

  • Experience in community engagement, communications, customer service, nonprofit administration, or related fields preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), email platforms, and social media tools a plus
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for synagogue programs and events
