The Union for Reform Judaism’s (URJ) Congregational Engagement and Leadership Experiences department  seeks an organized Program & Operations Associate to deepen the engagement experiences of congregations as part of the URJ network and empower individuals as leaders inspired to mobilize others for change.  The Program & Operations Associate provides critical operational support to the URJ’s Adult Jewish Learning and Accelerator network teams. This includes program scheduling, curriculum management, registration and feedback surveys, managing promotion of courses, and faculty and participant support, including tech support and payment processing, and light database work.    


The Program & Operations Associate supports two programmatic areas and reports to the Director of Jewish Engagement & Learning and Director of Congregational Innovation & Leadership. Responsibilities include:  


  • Help to build and maintain operational processes that enable the Adult Jewish Engagement and Learning programs to grow and scale in a systemic fashion. 

  • Use foresight to proactively support programs and manage any unforeseen challenges.  

  • Use Jewish, secular, and URJ organizational calendar to schedule courses and programs.  

  • Assign Zoom rooms for new courses and programs. On occasion, provide tech support for online zoom class sessions. 

  • Update website with current course and program information, including processing submissions from congregations. 

  • Maintain course materials in online course management system. 

  • Create, edit, and manage program registrations, surveys, and relevant forms. 

  • Manage participant database (Salesforce) prioritizing accuracy of information and creating relevant reports.  

  • Support and train faculty to on how to use adult learning systems and technologies (Zoom, Pathwright, Vimeo, OneDrive, etc.). 

  • Ability to apply URJ Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (REDI) principles to various aspects of the role including updated inclusive language, registration forms, online content and promotion of courses and other relevant areas. 

  • Support URJ org-wide priorities.  


  • Implement internal marketing checklist to ensure promotion of courses and programs. 

  • Support engagement work with congregations, including using established protocols to track our grant commitments to congregations. 

  • Provide effective and efficient customer service to participants. Help prospective participants find the right program for them. Support current and future participants with registration, technology access, and payment processing.

  • Strong critical thinking skills. Demonstrates adaptive, open-minded, and innovative thinking to problem-solve.  

  • Technology. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with hosting and facilitating recorded meetings or classes on Zoom. Experience using Salesforce or other database management systems. 

  • REDI Experience (Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion). Demonstrated experience prioritizing and executing on Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (i.e., ableism, LGBTQ+ Inclusion, antiracism, etc.) goals.  


  • Occasional in-person meetings, as needed 

  • Periodic online work on Sundays or weeknight evenings (approximately 4 times/quarter)
