Congregation Nevei Kodesh
Rabbi & Spiritual Leader Opportunity Summary
Boulder, Colorado | Full-Time | Beginning July 2027
Congregation Nevei Kodesh (Oasis of Holiness), a Jewish Renewal congregation in Boulder, Colorado, is seeking a full-time Rabbi & Spiritual Leader to begin in July 2027, following the retirement of our current Rabbi, Diane Tiferet Lakein.
Who We Are
For more than thirty years, Nevei Kodesh has sought to create a Judaism that is spiritually alive, intellectually engaging, and deeply relevant to contemporary life. Rooted in the teachings and lineage of Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi (z’l) and founded under the spiritual leadership of Rabbi Tirzah Firestone, our congregation brings together inspiring worship, thoughtful learning, meaningful relationships, joyful musical expression, contemplative practice, and a commitment to Tikkun Olam.
We call the aspiration at the heart of our community Heartfelt, Transformational Judaism—Jewish life that engages body, heart, mind, and spirit and finds expression both within our congregation and in how we live in the world.
The Opportunity
Our next Rabbi will join a healthy congregation with a clear sense of purpose, strong lay leadership, an experienced professional staff, a stable organizational foundation, and an engaged community excited about its next chapter.
We are seeking a spiritual guide, teacher, and community builder who is deeply grounded in Jewish Renewal; inspires through worship and thoughtful teaching; values music, meditation, and embodied spiritual practice; builds authentic relationships; and leads collaboratively while providing clear spiritual vision.
Our next Rabbi will partner with us to:
- Create inspiring, participatory, music-rich worship rooted in Jewish Renewal.
- Offer thoughtful teaching that connects Jewish wisdom with the enduring questions of our lives and our world.
- Build meaningful relationships across generations and accompany members through life's celebrations, transitions, and losses.
- Help shape our evolving religious school and inspire children and families to experience Jewish learning as a lifelong journey.
- Cultivate lay leaders, teachers, service leaders, and volunteers in our deeply participatory community.
- Engage thoughtfully with Tikkun Olam and contemporary moral, ethical, civic, and communal questions through a Jewish lens.
- Help our congregation grow in membership, vitality, engagement, and impact.
The Partnership
We believe rabbis flourish when they are well supported. Our Rabbi will work in close partnership with professional staff, an engaged Board, thoughtful lay leaders, talented musicians, and a congregation that values collaboration, healthy boundaries, shared responsibility, and ongoing professional growth.
Compensation: $110,000–$130,000 base salary, plus clergy housing allowance and comprehensive benefits
