Duration: Spring Semester 2026 (Maternity Leave Coverage 6-8 weeks)
Hours: 15-20 Hours Per Week

 

Position Overview:

Serve as the on-campus presence for the Orthodox community at NYU/Downtown during the Director's maternity leave, providing Torah learning, student support, and community connection.

 

This is a part-time position. Requirements are flexible and will be designed to match the skills and interests of the candidate. Interested parties are encouraged to inquire to discuss how the role can be tailored to their background and availability.

 

Responsibilities:

Education & Engagement

  • Support student growth through text study and discussion
  • Oversee/attend one weekly evening learning program (1 hour)
  • Midday presence in NYU kosher cafeteria (2 hours) for chavrusas and coffees: twice weekly for Torah learning, relationship building, and pastoral support
  • Coordinate guest speakers as needed
  • Attend Shabbat programming (preferred)

Administration

  • Log student interactions and attendance data
  • Support the planning and execution of major semester events
  • Assist in marketing events via WhatsApp and social media
