Development Analytics & Research Associate Director

Location: Remote/US Based, (Metro DC Area Preferred)

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Development Analytics & Research Associate Director plays a key role in strengthening the organization’s fundraising strategy through data, research, and systems optimization. This role supports campaign forecasting and pacing, delivers data-driven insights to inform decision-making, and enhances pipeline development.

Working closely with the Global Director of Development and the Development and Systems Team, this position helps to ensure that prospect strategy, reporting infrastructure, and departmental processes support sustainable revenue growth and operational efficiency. This role leverages data to strengthen donor engagement, retention, and revenue growth.

This role reports directly to the Global Director of Development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Data Analytics

  • Build and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards to track fundraising performance, pipeline activity, and campaign progress.
  • Analyze fundraising data to identify trends and growth opportunities.
  • Support planning and forecasting for campaign using historical data.
  • Provide insights to Development leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the effective use of development data across the department.

Reporting & Insights

  • Develop reporting on key campaign KPIs.
  • Translate data findings into clear recommendations for fundraising strategy.
  • Monitor campaign performance and suggest optimization.

Pipeline Development & Prospect Strategy

  • Lead prospect research and identification to support major gifts, campaigns, and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a strong fundraising pipeline of qualified donor prospects.

Systems & Operational Efficiency

  • Develop and implement strategies and processes to improve Development reporting and analytic systems.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and strengthen the infrastructure that supports fundraising operations.

Development Operations & Collaboration

  • Partner with Development leadership to support overall fundraising strategy and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to align donor strategy, program priorities, and operational execution.
  • Ensure accurate records to maintain donor data, track activity, and support reporting needs through Salesforce.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Data Analytics, Statistics, Nonprofit Management or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in data analysis, prospect research, fundraising analytics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Excellent PC literacy is a plus with preferred competency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Sharepoint).
  • Experience building reports, dashboards, and forecasting models to support fundraising performance.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across individuals, teams and departments.

  • Must have flexibility to work nontraditional hours including occasional evenings and Sundays as needed.

This is an exempt position. The salary range is $90,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on relevant experience.
