The Jewish Association for Residential Care (JARC) is seeking a dynamic, relationship-oriented Assistant Director of Advancement to join our leadership fundraising team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in growing philanthropic support, expanding community partnerships, and advancing JARC's mission of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, fulfilling lives.

Working closely with the Senior Director of Advancement and Chief Executive Officer, the assistant Director of Advancement will help develop and execute fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, secure grants and sponsorships, and support initiatives that strengthen JARC's impact throughout Palm Beach County and beyond.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Advancement will be responsible for helping to achieve agency fundraising goals through annual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grant funding, planned giving initiatives, donor stewardship, and special events. This individual will actively identify and cultivate new donors, strengthen relationships with existing supporters, and build partnerships that advance JARC's mission and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct prospect research and identify new donor opportunities throughout Palm Beach County.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community stakeholders.
  • Assist in achieving annual fundraising goals for unrestricted and restricted gifts, corporate sponsorships, and special events.
  • Research, prepare, and submit grant proposals in collaboration with agency leadership and program staff.
  • Monitor fundraising trends and grant opportunities to maximize philanthropic support.
  • Develop and coordinate fundraising initiatives targeted at individuals and families aged fifty and younger.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of planned giving strategies, including Leave a Legacy initiatives.
  • Help plan and execute fundraising events while building relationships with donors, volunteers, and community leaders.
  • Facilitate donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgment letters, gratitude calls, and recognition efforts.
  • Represent JARC within the Jewish and broader community to increase awareness, engagement, and support.
  • Promote JARC's mission and uphold the organization's core values.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional fundraising, development, campaign management, or related nonprofit experience.
  • Demonstrated success cultivating donor relationships and achieving fundraising goals.
  • Experience with grant writing, grant management, and foundation relations.
  • Knowledge of annual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, planned giving, and donor stewardship strategies.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with donors, volunteers, community leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic planning, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with fundraising database software preferred.
  • Passion for nonprofit work and commitment to JARC's mission and values.
