Description

Anshe Emet Synagogue is a vibrant, urban Conservative congregation with a collaborative staff and clergy who serve a diverse, dynamic and welcoming community of over 1,200 families. Our hiring decisions are based on who you are, not only on what you can do. While skills are important, at Anshe Emet we hire the person and the skillset.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, musical Youth Service Leader to lead our weekly Shabbat morning services for kids ages 0-10 and their grownups. These services will include a storybook read-aloud, facilitated discussion, and/or interactive activity based on that week’s Torah portion or holiday. In partnership with our Cantors, we’re looking for someone who can bring music, ruach, and wisdom to our Shalom Shabbat (Families with 0-5 year olds), Shachar (Families with K-2nd graders), and/or Noar (Families with 3rd-6th graders) services.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be excited about singing, playing, dancing, and praying with kids of all ages
  • Possess a strong singing voice and be able to play a portable instrument as accompaniment (guitar, ukelele, mandolin etc.)
  • Have basic familiarity with the Shabbat morning prayer service and a willingness to learn more

Our youth services are held every Saturday from 10am - 12pm, and other leadership opportunities might be available as they arise. Compensation would be $150 per morning.

To apply, please send your resume and a short video demonstrating your energetic musical leadership to Aviva Feiglin, [email protected].
