Hebrew Language Teacher

Location: Woodbridge, CT

Type: Part-time or full-time Teacher Position

Position Status: Salaried, exempt, full or part-time, 9.5 months

Hours of Work: Standard work week. Monday-Friday

Ezra Academy seeks a Hebrew language teacher to join the elementary school team in August 2026. The ideal candidate will bring experience teaching Hebrew to children, a dexterity with planning and assessment, and a commitment to conveying the structure and sounds of Modern Hebrew with joy and curiosity in a setting that privileges progressive pedagogy. This position may be full or part-time.  

Ezra Academy is a Jewish day school with a Montessori for kindergarten students and younger. Ezra Academy’s lower and upper schools serve students through eighth grade. We boast a student-centered, progressive pedagogy, a commitment to timeless Jewish values, and a commitment to excellence. We have shared our home with Congregation B’nai Jacob just outside of New Haven in Woodbridge, Connecticut, since 1969. 

Skills, experience and talent:

• Bachelor's degree
• Professional experience working with children 
• Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity
• Warmth of personality, a sense of humor, and a willingness and interest to engage with parents and participate in other aspects of our learning community
• Ability to speak Hebrew and teach Jewish holidays and traditions a plus
