About Club Z

We're living through a moment when Jewish teenagers are being asked to defend their identity before they've had the chance to build it. Club Z exists to change that.

We run rigorous, unapologetic Zionist education programs for teens across the country — not as a reaction to antisemitism, but as a proactive investment in who these kids are and who they're becoming. Our students don't just learn about Israel. They build a relationship with it, with their history, and with each other — and they leave with the vocabulary, the confidence, and the conviction to stand behind it.

Club Z is a small, fast-moving organization with outsized ambition. We're not a legacy institution. We're builders — and we're looking for people who are too.

The Role

This is fundamentally a people job.

The Community Engagement Lead is the face of Club Z in the NY/NJ area— the person who finds the right families, earns their trust, and brings them into a community they didn't know they needed. You'll spend your time in conversations: with teenagers figuring out who they are, with parents who want more for their kids, and with community leaders who can open doors.

You won't sit behind a desk. You'll be at synagogues, schools, living room parlor meetings, and coffee shops. You'll follow up, check in, and show up. You'll know your community the way a good organizer does — by name, by story, by what matters to them.

This role is right for someone who genuinely loves people, moves fast, and finds energy in building something from the ground up. It is not right for someone who prefers systems over relationships or needs a lot of structure to stay motivated.

What You'll Do

Community Building & Recruitment

  • Serve as the primary Club Z presence across Northern & Central NJ, Westchester, NYC including Brooklyn
  • Recruit teens and families into Club Z programming through direct outreach, relationship-building, and community events
  • Build and sustain relationships with synagogues, day schools, Jewish youth organizations, and other community partners
  • Work with Club Z teen leaders to create speaking opportunities and expand Club Z's presence in the community
  • Conduct one-on-one and small-group meetings — in person and by phone — with parents and teens to deepen engagement

Events & Visibility

  • Coordinate and facilitate regional events, social activities, and parlor meetings
  • Use social media actively to promote events, spotlight students, and grow Club Z's regional visibility
  • Represent Club Z at community events and with external partners

Operations & Team Support

  • Support visiting Club Z staff and facilitate regional logistics when national team members are in the NJ/NY Area
  • Maintain accurate records of relationships and outreach using Club Z's tools and systems
  • Adhere to Club Z's organizational protocols and reporting expectations

Who You Are

You are a natural connector. You remember names, follow up without being asked, and make people feel seen. You're comfortable in a room full of strangers and equally comfortable in a one-on-one. You know how to listen before you pitch.

You are mission-driven. You care about Jewish identity, Israel, and the next generation — not abstractly, but personally. You can speak to Club Z's mission with conviction because you share it.

You are entrepreneurial. You don't wait to be told what to do. You see an opportunity, you make a plan, and you execute. You're comfortable with ambiguity and energized by ownership.

You are organized enough to manage a full, self-directed schedule without dropping balls — but you don't let process get in the way of people.

Qualifications

  • Genuine passion for and alignment with Club Z's mission and Zionist values — non-negotiable
  • 2+ years of experience in community outreach, organizing, recruiting, or relationship-based roles
