The Development Executive in NYC Women is responsible for the engagement, cultivation, and solicitation of women through face-to-face meetings, the organization of cultivation and fundraising events, and site visits.
Major Responsibilities:
- Identify and cultivate women throughout Manhattan with a primary focus on donors giving $1,000- 10,000 annually.
- Develop and implement appropriate fundraising strategies to increase dollars raised for the annual campaign. Employ a variety of fundraising techniques, including face-to-face solicitations, fundraising events, phone sessions, and written communications.
- Responsible for major Women’s events including the Lions Lunch, Lions Cocktail party and other events that impact this important population.
- Educate donors and prospects about the mission of UJA-Federation of New York through one-on-one cultivation activities, fundraising events, educational programs, and mitzvah projects
- Organize cultivation programs, agency site visits, volunteer activities, and other meaningful activities.
- Involve lay leadership in a strategic manner. Provide necessary professional support to appropriate lay committees. This includes agenda setting, preparing reports and presentations, writing meeting notes, and providing appropriate follow-up.
- Collaborate with staff in other divisions to develop and implement strategies involving donors, spouses and family engagement across divisional lines. This includes collaboration with fundraisers for the annual campaign, Planned Giving and Endowments Campaign, Capital and Special Initiatives Campaigns in order to maximize engagement of the donor and her family.
- Maintain records of donor portfolios and evaluate progress regularly with supervisor.
- Liaison with internal workgroups.
Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years minimum work experience to include significant, demonstrable fundraising experience, including face-to-face and phone solicitation as well as event management.
- High degree of comfort with donors.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer-service orientation.
- Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as active listening skills.
- Should be comfortable and adept at presenting and communicating via Zoom, Microsoft Teams and other remote-work applications.
- Knowledge of issues facing the Jewish community and passion for UJA-Federation’s mission.
- Self-starter.

Salary Information and Reporting Structure:
The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $75,000; commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above. This position reports to the Assistant Director of UJA Women.
