The Center for Jewish Education (CJE) at Congregation Shirat Hayam is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and compassionate teacher to work with our 6th and 7th graders. This is a part-time position in a joyful, relationship-centered Hebrew school that values curiosity, connection, and fun.
What You’ll Do
· Teach Torah, Jewish values, and Tefillah (prayer) in engaging, age-appropriate, and creative ways
· Help students build Hebrew reading and writing skills with confidence
· Create a classroom culture that is warm, inclusive, and joyful
· Use music, movement, discussion, games, and hands-on learning to bring Judaism to life
· Collaborate with a supportive team of educators and teen madrichim
· Help students connect Jewish learning to their own lives and the world around them
· Keep parents updated
What We’re Looking For
· Ability to read and write Hebrew
· Understanding of Biblical Grammar and Exegesis
· Experience teaching or working with middle-school-aged students
· Comfort teaching Torah and prayer in fun, accessible ways
· A love of Jewish learning
· Creativity, flexibility, and a sense of humor
· Music skills a plus but not a requirement
Schedule & Details
· Part-time, CJE meets on Saturday mornings 9-12 and Tuesday afternoons from 4-6
