Transitional Kindergarten Teacher

Position: Transitional Kindergarten Teacher 
Description: Full-Time

Heschel Day School, a Community Jewish Day School, seeks an experienced, energetic, flexible, and talented Transitional Kindergarten (TK) teacher to join our faculty for the 2026 - 2027 school year. The successful candidate will be professional and collaborative, possess personal and professional integrity, and be enthusiastic about participating in our community of lifelong learners. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Work cooperatively with colleagues in planning and implementing a balanced, innovative, and high-level program 
• Establish and maintain standards of excellence for supervision and student engagement
• Guide students in developing social-emotional skills such as self-regulation, cooperation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution using developmentally appropriate strategies.
• Plan and ensure that curriculum and lessons are geared to meet the needs of multiple levels of ability and a wide range of learners 
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and school-wide activities 
• Maintain successful relationships with families, including phone calls, conferences, and written communications 
  

Successful candidates will have: 

• Bachelor’s degree, teaching or early childhood credential, and a minimum of five years as a lead TK teacher.
• Strong technology skills for communications and instruction, and strong written and oral skills (parent communications, progress reports, etc.) 
• Flexibility to work in multiple settings and shared spaces
• Desire to engender a love of learning as well as a caring, professional demeanor, and the willingness to work as part of multiple teams (General, Judaic, Hebrew, Specialists, and Administration) 
• An understanding of child development and the unique needs of children in Transitional Kindergarten.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with people of all levels in a professional and constructive manner 
• Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development 

Heschel offers competitive salaries and benefits, along with a collegial work environment. The salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience and education.
