Early Childhood Coordinator
Job Description:
The early childhood coordinator is responsible for overseeing and providing a warm, welcoming, and meaningful experience for our families with children age 0-5. The coordinator will work directly with Rabbi Lowentha and member familiesl to create programming that reflects the community's values and objectives.
The role is integral to the synagogue and its growth. Candidates should be excited about working with families to create a Kehila Kedosha (holy community) rooted in Jewish ritual and values. This role requires attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, and a kind spirit.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate 2 monthly programs plus holiday specific programming
Plan and execute two larger community events in the fall/winter and spring
Lead family shabbat or havdalah when needed
Coordinate with families to support volunteerism
Help administer the whatsapp group
Email communication at least twice a month
Meet monthly with Rabbi and Executive Director
Salary:
$10,000 for programming between September and June

About TBS:
TBS is a warm and vibrant Reform synagogue in the heart of Melrose. Our members come from an array of backgrounds, and our programming reflects our diverse interests. We are a small community and value intergenerational programming. TBS is a place where all our members feel at home, from our youngest to our oldest.
About the FWYC (families with young children) community
Until now, our community has been volunteer run, beginning as a monthly havdalah potluck in the family's backyard. Over the last few years we have added programming and have grown. While we still love being hands on, it is clear we need a position to help coordinate and communicate. This year we were awarded a grant from CJP to support an expansion of our program. Our hope is to continue this position with or without the grant in the following years.
Qualifications:
