CCC’s Leadership Development Program Young Adult Mentor

CCC is seeking Jewish young adults to serve as mentors for teens in the Leadership Development Program. Mentors develop strong relationships with teens as they facilitate small group conversations using the LDP curriculum. This is a contract position with a minimum of 6 hours per month and the opportunity to work up to 25 hours per month.

Creating Connected Communities (CCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide life-enhancing programs for children experiencing hardship by empowering teens to become engaged community leaders and volunteers. CCC is committed to being an inclusive organization that represents our community and is dedicated to meeting the needs of families from diverse ethnic, social, religious, and economic backgrounds.

CCC’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) engages Jewish teens in grades 8–12 in meaningful and interactive community service, supporting thousands of children and families each year. We teach critical leadership skills and empower hundreds of teens to become engaged community leaders and volunteers across Atlanta. With locations hosted at Temple Sinai, Congregation B’nai Torah, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, the 2025 cohort enrolled 315 teens.

An ideal candidate will:

  • Identify as a Jewish young adult (at least 20 years old)
  • Be able and willing to share about their Jewish identity with others
  • Have experience working with teens or experience in a leadership role in an informal educational/camp/youth group setting
  • Have a dynamic personality with a strong presence
  • "Command a room” and connect easily with others
  • Work as a team player and demonstrate passion for CCC’s work
  • Be responsible, trustworthy, mature, organized, and demonstrate good time management skills
  • Have good communication skills and attend to deadlines

Under the direction of the Experiential Educator Director, the LDP Mentors are responsible for implementing the LDP curriculum and community outreach programs. Mentors work with the Education Director to continually improve the program and implement growth plans. The LDP curriculum is experiential, informal, and project based. There are group discussions and activities, guest speakers, and more. The mentors will be responsible for facilitating 10 of these sessions per year using a pre-written curriculum. There is a once-a-month mentor training session with the Education Director. There are also monthly CCC community outreach programs where the mentors will sign up to assist with set up, implementation, and clean up, pending availability. Most importantly, mentors serve as role models for our teens, empowering them to be engaged, knowledgeable, empathetic, and passionate leaders.

LDP Curriculum focus areas include:

  • Community building and Jewish leadership
  • Understanding mission and vision
  • Identifying community needs
  • Understanding families experiencing hardship and advocacy work
  • Empathy building
  • Jewish philanthropy
  • Applying fundraising skills & strategies to LDP’s Annual Fall Fundraiser
  • Program planning and implementation

Job specifications:

  • LDP Mentors are paid $30/hour for all CCC programs, meetings, and other activities they attend.
  • Mentors must be able to commit approximately 6-10 hours/month for curriculum prep, training sessions, LDP sessions, and programs.
