Congregation Shir Hadash is a warm and vibrant Reform Jewish community in Los Gatos, CA. We are seeking a full-time Teen Programming Coordinator to join our professional team.

This position is designed for an early-career Jewish professional—particularly someone with experience in a Jewish religious school, summer camp, youth group, or Hillel setting—who is ready to grow in synagogue life.

The Teen Programming Coordinator will work closely with Rabbi Rafi Ellenson, Rachel Wilson, Assistant Director of Education, and other staff to coordinate teen programs and implement meaningful Jewish learning and social experiences for teens. This role offers mentorship, real responsibility, and the opportunity to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

Teen Programming: SALTY Youth Group & JET (Jewish Experience for Teens)

• Support teen leaders and the SALTY board in coordinating SALTY programs and initiatives
• Facilitate and assist teen efforts within the Congregation Shir Hadash youth group (SALTY)
• Help manage scheduling, logistics, communication, and on-site support for programs and events in collaboration with appropriate staff
• Provide teen mentorship and attend all SALTY board meetings and events

Teen Madrichim (Volunteer) Program

• Coordinate the teen madrichim program, including recruitment, scheduling, training, and communication
• Support teen volunteers in religious school and congregational programs
• Help teens grow as leaders and role models within the community

Curriculum Coordination & Educational Support

• Coordinate and implement JET (Jewish Experience for Teens) – our Tuesday night teen program – in consultation with Rabbi Rafi Ellenson and Rachel Wilson, Assistant Director of Education
• Serve as a substitute teacher in Kulanu, Shir Hadash’s Sunday morning religious school program, as needed

Administration & Communication

• Communicate regularly with families, teens, clergy, and staff
• Track schedules, participation, and program details across multiple initiatives
• Support broader youth and education efforts as part of a collaborative staff team

Please note: other duties may arise as assigned. This role requires working some Shabbats and some Jewish holidays.

Who You Are

• An early-career Jewish professional (recent college graduate or equivalent experience)
• Experience in at least one of the following:
• Jewish summer camp
• Religious school or supplemental Jewish education
• Youth group, Hillel, or informal Jewish education (leadership role, specialist, or similar)
• Organized, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts
• Warm, approachable, and skilled at building relationships with teens and families
• Strong communicator, especially via email, text, and family communication
• Excited to learn, grow, and be mentored by clergy and senior staff
• Familiarity with Reform Jewish life is a plus, but not required
