Lifecycle Coordinator

Job Overview
The Lifecycle Coordinator serves as a compassionate steward of Beth El’s most sacred moments, supporting members and families through meaningful lifecycle events and essential administrative functions. This role requires a professional who understands that behind every detail—a name on a plaque, a yahrzeit date, a family gathering—is a deeply personal story deserving of care, accuracy, and respect.

The ideal candidate is warm, professional, and able to anticipate next steps beyond what is immediately visible. You will often be the first point of contact for members and families, setting the tone for their experience with our community. Strong written communication skills and the ability to organize tasks thoughtfully are essential.

Duties

  • Coordinate and support lifecycle events, including Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, funerals, and yahrzeits, with attention to detail and sensitivity.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and plaques related to member lifecycle events.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for members and families, providing guidance, support, and timely responses.
  • Draft and proof communications, publications, and member engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clergy and office staff to ensure smooth execution of events and administrative tasks.
  • Anticipate next steps and proactively address potential needs or issues in processes and events.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Jewish customs, traditions, and lifecycle events is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in or with Jewish communities is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex or sensitive information clearly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to think ahead, anticipate next steps, and take initiative independently.
  • Emotional intelligence and comfort interacting with members and families during both joyful and sensitive moments.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced, small-office environment where team members support each other across responsibilities.
