GRANTS ASSOCIATE/DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

FLSA Exempt

 

BASIC FUNCTION

Responsible for all aspects involved in the research and writing of grants and providing assistance to the Development Department as directed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Researches new grants/foundations and government grants for BTS and the Elaine Breslow Institute
  • Assembles and writes Letters of Intents (LOIs), interim and final reports
  • Ensures proper evaluation methods are in place within each department and works with department heads to maintain effective data-collection procedures
  • Maintains Development department logs of activities and projects
  • Helps coordinate the development of all marketing materials used for grants and ensures foundation recognition when/where required
  • Participates in cultivation and stewardship activities, including donor visits, dinners and other events
  • Communicates with community members, employees, donors and Temple members
  • Backup for Raiser’s Edge
  • All other duties as assigned

  

EDUCATION AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Previous experience – and success – with writing grants and assembling applications for both private foundations and government entities
  • Previous experience with administrative work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Good follow-through and completion of tasks and projects
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure
