Upper School English Language Arts Teacher (Full Time 2026-27)

Berman Hebrew Academy is a Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School seeking a dynamic, caring educator to serve as a Full Time English Language Arts teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.

This teacher will join a collaborative English department and support students as they develop as insightful readers, critical thinkers, and confident writers. The ideal candidate is flexible, organized, and excited to step into an established classroom environment while maintaining continuity and high academic expectations.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching assigned Upper School English classes on a full time schedule
• Implementing existing curriculum and lesson plans, with room for creativity and professional judgment
• Supporting students’ reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Collaborating with department colleagues and administrators
• Communicating clearly and professionally with students, parents, and staff

The ideal candidate has:

• A BA or MA in secondary education or a related subject area
• High school classroom teaching experience (long-term substitute experience welcomed)
• A commitment to helping students become engaged, independent learners
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• An interest in ongoing professional growth

The expected salary range for this position is $50,000 - $85,000, based on experience and qualifications. This range is our best estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined at the time of the offer.
