Experiential Educator

Camp Judaea a Jewish and Zionist camp, is hiring an Experiential Educator to work collaboratively on our Chinch (education) team, integrating Jewish and Israel education across our entire camp community, from daily age-group programs to camp-wide celebrations, from cabin moments to festival-style events. 

This is a contract position for June 2026. Candidates interested in full-summer employment (June/July 2026) will also be considered.

We're looking for an Experiential Educator who thrives on coaching, training, and empowering others to bring Jewish and Israel education to life across camp. You'll work alongside unit heads (merakzim), activity area specialists, and counselors to infuse values-based Jewish and Israel education into everything we do. Think of yourself as an educational coach who helps staff see the Jewish learning potential in a ropes course activity, a cabin conversation, or a spontaneous teachable moment.

What you'll do:

• Coach and train unit heads and counselors of 3-4 age groups to deliver the age-group Israel education curriculum (already developed) in engaging, experiential ways
• Collaborate with activity area heads to integrate Jewish values and Israel connections into their specialties
• Create practical tools—activity guides, visual resources, conversation prompts—that staff can actually use out in camp
• Design and facilitate camp-wide educational moments, special programs, and celebrations
• Support staff in recognizing and deepening teachable moments throughout the camp day
• Partner with the education team (Jewish life specialist, leadership educator, and the other experiential educator) to create cohesive experiences
• Help shape t'filot, Shabbat, and special events
• Support integration of our Kehilat Lev Echad values initiative - kindness, responsibility, integrity, and respect - throughout camp programming
• Build staff confidence and skills in experiential Jewish & Israel education through ongoing support and feedback

What we're looking for:

• Experience in Jewish/Israel education and camp/youth/synagogue/day school work
• Comfort with experiential education approaches
• Knowledge of Jewish life, Israel education, and character development through a Jewish lens
• The ability to see educational potential everywhere and help others see it too
• A collaborative spirit—you love working alongside others to make things better
• Practical creativity—you design tools and resources people will actually use
• Flexibility and presence throughout camp life
