About the Position

TBH-BE, a vibrant, growing Conservative synagogue in Wynnewood, PA, seeks an innovative, organized, and dynamic individual to join its Education team. The synagogue has approximately 800 households, a hebrew school of over 215 students and an active youth and teen education program. This full-time position has a strong focus on elementary and teen engagement and education, with the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative, and creative environment.

  • Energetic, engaging, passionate, and flexible approach to education
  • Teaching experience in Jewish educational settings
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated collaboration, project management, and leadership skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in continuous learning and growth as a Jewish educator
  • Proficiency with social media platforms for youth engagement and program promotion
  • Experience with budgeting and program administration
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) required; concentration in Education or Jewish Studies preferred

Core Responsibilities

  1. Religious School
  • Provide administrative support and leadership for the two-day-a-week Religious School program
  • Manage all aspects of enrollment, supplies, inventory, and ordering
  • Work with the Education Director on scheduling, programming, and special events
  • Coordinate our inclusion efforts and work with Coordinators of Student Success on ensuring each student is thriving
  • Manage and provide training for the Madrichim (teen aide) program
  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor teen aides for Religious School and High Holidays
  • Develop training curriculum and ongoing professional support for Madrichim
  • Evaluate Madrichim performance and provide constructive feedback
  1. High School Education
  • Provide leadership for the synagogue's new High School Education initiatives
  • Manage enrollment for the High School program, including outreach to prospective students and families
  • Serve as a teacher for weekly High School classes
  • Develop engaging, age-appropriate curriculum with a focus on experiential learning
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that deepens Jewish identity
  1. Youth Programming
  • Oversee and develop experiential programmingfor grades 3–8, including Shul-Ins, retreats, monthly programs, holiday programs, and overnight trips; manage all related logistics, staffing, and budgets.
  • Lead and grow pre-teen youthengagement by building community, fostering meaningful Jewish experiences, and increasing parent involvement, including both Day School and Religious School students.
  • Supervise the Senior USY chapter in partnership with staff advisors, lay leaders and student leaders
  • Develop Support leadership development, partner on monthly programs, service projects and social events, and encourage regional participation.
  • Ensure youthprogramming and community milestones are properly promoted through social media to engage youth, teens and families
  • Serve as lead staff person for synagogue Youth Torah Reading program.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and reach of youthand teen programming in collaboration with the Associate Executive Director and senior staff

 

Hours & Schedule

This is a full-time position with regular evening and weekend work expected throughout the academic year. Candidates should anticipate commitments on some Shabbatot and Jewish holidays as part of the normal rhythm of synagogue life. The position offers flexibility and a collaborative team environment.
