Position Summary:

The Coordinator of Auxiliary Programs provides leadership for Temple Sinai Nursery School's afternoon program, ensuring that children experience a joyful, engaging, and well-organized continuation of their school day. This position combines program leadership, curriculum development, administrative coordination, and direct work with children.

During the 2026–2027 school year, the Coordinator will strengthen and refine TSNS's Afterschool ("Stay & Play") programming while laying the foundation for a future enrichment program featuring classes such as art, movement, Hebrew, cooking, STEM, sports, and other specialty offerings.

The Coordinator serves as the primary administrator responsible for school operations during after-school hours.

Job Responsibilities:

Program Leadership:

  • Provide leadership for all aspects of afterschool and enrichment programming.
  • Design a warm, engaging, play-based afternoon experience that reflects the philosophy and values of TSNS.
  • Supervise daily operations and ensure a safe, organized environment.
  • Develop systems and procedures that support high-quality programming.
  • Lead the planning and future implementation of TSNS's Enrichment Program.
  • Research enrichment opportunities and cultivate relationships with outside vendors and community partners.

Staff Leadership:

  • Recruit, onboard, schedule, and support the hiring of afterschool “Stay & Play” teaching staff.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and day-to-day supervision.
  • Lead regular planning meetings with Stay & Play staff
  • Collaborate closely with the school’s Director, Assistant Director, Director of Operations, and classroom teaching teams.

Children & Families:

  • Build meaningful relationships with children and families.
  • Support smooth transitions from the core school day into afternoon programming
  • Develop engaging play experiences, outdoor learning opportunities, projects, and clubs.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding programming and student experiences.

Operations:

  • Serve as the administrator responsible for the school during afterschool hours.
  • Maintain licensing compliance and health and safety standards.
  • Coordinate supplies, classroom setup, snack, attendance, and dismissal.
  • Partner with Temple facilities staff as needed.

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Help develop a multi-year vision for Auxiliary Programming
  • Plan for implementation of enrichment programming beginning in 2027.
  • Analyze enrollment patterns and family needs.
  • Recommend new offerings and improvements.
  • Support admissions events and school-wide programming.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to independently lead a program
  • Experience working with young children

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Twelve (12) semester credits in Early Childhood Education (or ability to qualify as an OSSE Lead Teacher)
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Experience designing enrichment programs or extracurricular programming

Hours:

  • Approximately 30 hours per week during the school year.
  • Typical schedule is approximately 12:00–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility based on programming needs.
  • The Coordinator participates in Teacher Orientation, Professional Development Days, admissions events, and other school functions.
  • During school vacations, summer, and professional work days, hours will be scheduled in collaboration with the Director.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation for this position is expected to range from $45,000 to $56,000, commensurate with experience, demonstrated financial and operations success, leadership capabilities, and overall qualifications.  This is a full-time, salaried position.
