Our client is a Jewish organization providing social, emotional, and practical assistance to children, families, and communities impacted by medical crises.

They seek a dynamic, relationship-driven Executive Director to lead their Fundraising efforts in the Syrian communities of Manhattan, Brooklyn & Deal NJ.

The Executive Director will play a key role in guiding and accelerating the growth of Chai Lifeline’s presence and impact throughout those communities. While day-to-day program operations will be overseen by a dedicated regional team, the Executive Director will be actively involved in high-level decisions shaping regional strategy, partnerships, and expansion. The ideal candidate must have experience in the Syrian community and live in NY or NJ.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Community Engagement:

 

    • Build and implement a community engagement plan to raise visibility and deepen impact.
    • Represent the organization at community events, synagogues, schools, and partner organizations.

 

  • Fundraising & Development:

 

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive regional fundraising strategy aligned with national goals.
    • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major donors, foundations, and community stakeholders.
    • Build strong, mission-driven relationships within the Jewish and broader community.

 

  • Leadership & Strategy:

 

  • Provide strategic oversight of regional operations, including volunteer engagement and client services.
  • Collaborate with regional program leadership to ensure quality and consistency of care for families.
  • Partner with national leadership and other regions to share best practices and coordinate initiatives.
  • Play a key role in planning, growth, and expansion efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Successful fundraising experience in the Syrian communities of Manhattan, Brooklyn or Deal NJ, required.
  • Deep understanding of and ability to connect with all segments of the Syrian Jewish communities.
  • Excellent communication, strategic planning, and organizational skills.
Salary175,000.00 - 200,000.00 Annual
