New York City based nonprofit seeks a half-time or part-time hourly associate (10-20 hours weekly) to help with all aspects of office administration, and support for fundraising, special events (in person), and social media and marketing. Graphic design and database experience on raisers edge are a plus. This is an in-person work position with a highly respected small, national nonprofit, American Friends of Rabin Medical Center (www.afrmc.org).
This position requires excellent computer, writing and interpersonal skills. It may include from time to time some research on individuals and companies, as well as planning and executing a number of special fundraising events for 2026. Events include golf outings in New York and New Jersey, an two June breast & ovarian cancer 5K Cancer run / walks in Central Park, NYC and the Jersey Shore in June; and also a major Fall 2026 NYC Gala in November. The associate will participate in administration, and support for all event planning and logistics, as well as some daily office administrative projects, including telephone outreach and marketing, correspondence and mailings, and social media postings,
Part-time work days are flexible, starting immediately from 10-20 hours weekly. Position is for an NYC-based candidate. The attractive office space is located in SoHo in New York City. Its staff is small but the activity level is fast paced!
Associate will perform various development tasks such as outreach to work with individuals, companies and foundations. Asssociate may also include some of the following: to learn how to approach and help secure corporate and foundation sponsors, working on the preparation of event materials, selectively supporting aspects of event design (eg: proofing materials, pre-sale letters, program, etc.), connect with media and prospective partner groups, write outreach letters, web articles, email blasts, social media posts, and expand donor network outreach. In this role, the associate will support existing office staff, and in the process gain general administrative skills, and development and event planning experience.
The associate may make solicitation calls to companies and donors to support the various events. The associate will also perform other duties as assigned, including database management and office function tasks, depending on skill set. Special events fundraising experience is a plus.
Candidates must have excellent computer skills including experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook. Raisers Edge is a huge plus. Must be email and internet savvy; social media skills a plus.
Skill set should include good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, self-starter, writing and communication skills (on the phone and in person), detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
