Waterfront Director

This job is located 3 hours north of Chicago - you would live at camp and we would pay for your travel, room & board!

The Camp Young Judaea Midwest staff is comprised of individuals who bring their own experience and skill to create a community of hard working and dedicated counselors. Some of our staff have grown up at CYJ Midwest, some have grown up at other camps and some are experiencing overnight camp for the first time. About one-quarter of our staff are Israeli. This unique blend enables our staff to relate to each camper in a way that is meaningful and relevant

THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION FOR SUMMER 2022 - HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Camp Young Judaea Midwest is seeking an energetic, engaging, fun, and responsible person to be our Waterfront Director this summer. This person can either live on site at our summer camp or must live within the area to come to work.

Waterfront Director Responsibilities Include:

Training and managing the waterfront staff
Making sure campers and staff know the rules and safety procedures at the waterfront
Organizing inventory and keeping waterfront safe and clean
Ensuring engaging, educational, and safe programming at the waterfront
Coordinating lifeguards during day to day camp activities to ensure coverage at each area
Plan and execute a lake swim once each session
Notifying Unit Heads of any camper or staff problems at the waterfront
Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

21 years old and over preferred
Be available June 7-August 12
Have experience working with children
Ability to communicate effectively
