Bnai Mitzvah Tutor

The Dix Hills Jewish Center, a vibrant, thriving Conservative congregation, is seeking a knowledgeable, skilled, warm and engaging Bnai Mitzvah tutor to study in person with our students.

Qualifications:

• Candidate must have strong proficiency and accurate knowledge of Torah Trope and Haftarah Trope.
• The ideal candidate has prior experience teaching students in this setting, and has the ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and skill levels
• Patient, professional, organized and reliable

Responsibilities

• Teach Torah and Haftarah chanting in preparation for bar/bat mitzvah
• Provide structured, individualized and supportive instruction
• Communicate progress with parents and bnai mitzvah team, including Rabbi, Cantor and other tutor(s)

Schedule:

30-minute lessons are given on weekday afternoons/evenings, typically beginning 10 months prior to service date. Approximately 4 to 6 hours weekly

Competitive salary commensurate with experience
