Religious School Teacher – Congregation Eitz Chayim (1-2 positions)

About the Position

Congregation Eitz Chayim, an independent pluralistic synagogue in Cambridge, MA, is looking for an enthusiastic and caring Jewish educator to join our learning community.

This role is centered on Hebrew — decoding, prayer literacy, and helping students in grades 5–7 build real fluency and confidence. You'll also weave in Jewish Studies and Tefillah.

The position is flexible — you can take on one or both tracks:

• Weekday only: One afternoon/evening per week, TBD, 5–7pm
• Weekday + Sunday: Add Sundays, 10am–1pm, for a fuller teaching load

Note that our preference is for candidates who can teach BOTH days.

What We're Looking For

• Strong Hebrew background and experience teaching Hebrew decoding and Tefillah
• Experience with lesson planning and classroom management
• Warmth, creativity, and genuine enthusiasm for working with middle schoolers for the academic year. These kids are honestly great!

Compensation

• Rate: $55–65/hour, commensurate with experience
• Parking: Free parking on site
