Position Summary:
The Capital Campaign Director will lead and coordinate the execution of a $10 million capital campaign. This individual will manage the campaign’s daily operations, ensuring that fundraising strategy, donor communications, events, committee coordination, and pledge follow-through are implemented efficiently and professionally.
The Director will work closely with organizational leadership and campaign volunteers to cultivate donors, track commitments, and maintain campaign momentum through disciplined follow-up and strong relationship management. This is a short-term position (1–3 years) aligned with the duration of the campaign.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Management:
Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the $10 million capital campaign, ensuring adherence to timelines, fundraising strategies, and milestone targets.
Donor Engagement & Follow-Up:
Track and manage all donor conversations, solicitations, pledges, and commitments. Ensure prompt follow-up after meetings and maintain ongoing stewardship with donors and prospects.
Fundraising Communications & Materials:
Oversee the development and execution of all campaign-related communications, including donor materials, solicitation letters, proposals, reports, and updates. Coordinate copywriting, design, and production of campaign collateral as needed.
Events & Donor Gatherings:
Plan and coordinate campaign-related events including parlor meetings, donor receptions, campaign briefings, and recognition events.
Committee & Volunteer Coordination:
Serve as the central coordinator for campaign committees and volunteers. Schedule meetings, prepare agendas and materials, track assignments, and ensure consistent follow-through.
Prospect Tracking & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of donor prospects, pledges, and campaign progress. Provide regular progress reports and analytics to leadership and campaign chairs.
Leadership Support:
Prepare briefing materials for donor meetings and assist campaign leadership in prospect strategy, cultivation, and solicitation.
Key Deliverables & KPIs:
Support the successful fundraising of $10 million in campaign commitments within the campaign timeline
- Coordinate and track 100% of donor solicitations and pledge follow-ups within 48 hours of meetings or conversations
- Organize 10–20 campaign donor events or parlor meetings annually
- Maintain an active prospect pipeline with clear strategy for top 50–100 major donors
- Ensure accurate pledge tracking and reporting with monthly campaign progress reports
- Achieve 90–95% pledge collection rate through consistent donor stewardship and follow-up
- Maintain on-time coordination of all campaign committee meetings and action items
Qualifications:
- Previous capital campaign experience required (must have led or played a significant role in a capital campaign)
- Experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit leadership
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to develop compelling fundraising copy and oversee campaign materials from concept through production
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, volunteers, and donor relationships simultaneously
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
