Assistant Preschool Teacher

Location: Penn Valley, PA
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay: $23–$26/hour, commensurate with experience
Start Date: August 2025

Overview:

The Noreen Cook Center for Early Childhood Education (NCCECE) at Har Zion Temple is seeking loving, reliable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to join our full-time preschool faculty for the 2025–2026 school year.

Our preschool is a warm and inclusive Jewish learning environment where we support the social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual development of every child. As an Assistant Teacher, you will help nurture a love of learning through play-based discovery, creativity, and connection — all while being a valued part of our collaborative teaching team.

Responsibilities:

• Support lead teachers in the classroom with daily activities, routines, and supervision
• Help implement a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum
• Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff
• Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, materials preparation, and transitions
• Communicate with professionalism and warmth with families and colleagues
• Attend school meetings, trainings, and occasional special events

Qualifications:

• Experience working with young children in a school or daycare setting
• Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing personality
• Must be willing and able to work with toddlers ages 2 and under
• Ability to collaborate and follow direction from lead teachers and school administrators
• High school diploma required; CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
• Familiarity with Jewish traditions and holidays is a plus, but not required
