Religious School Teacher

Beit Haverim is a small, vibrant Reform Jewish congregation in Lake Oswego, OR. We are hiring a teacher for our Religious School for the 2025-2026 school year for grades K-2. We seek individuals who are enthusiastic, creative, love children, and want to help shape the next generation of Jewish learners. 

Our school runs on Sunday afternoons from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm for 28 Sundays during the school year. Our competitive pay range is $35-46.50/hour, depending on experience.

Teachers are required to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of school, submit weekly lesson plans following the guidelines established, and attend monthly staff meetings and other events outside of Sundays as it affects their students. Teachers are compensated for lesson planning, meetings, and events outside of school hours.

WHO HAVE: 

• Knowledge of Jewish holidays, customs, rituals and prayers
• Elementary teaching experience or camp/youth group experience preferred
• Ability to teach Hebrew alphabet and Hebrew decoding strongly preferred.
