Assistant Nursery 3 Teacher

Position Overview

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Assistant Nursery 3 Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to support daily classroom activities, assist with instruction, and help meet the individual needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities.

  • Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate lessons, activities, and learning experiences.

  • Work with children individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and developmental skills.

  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment.

  • Assist children with daily routines, transitions, meals, bathroom needs, and other age-appropriate self-care tasks.

  • Supervise children and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.

  • Encourage positive social interactions, cooperation, communication, and independence.

  • Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and supplies as needed.

  • Help maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming classroom.

  • Observe children's behavior and development and communicate observations to the Lead Teacher.

  • Support classroom events, special activities, and school-wide programs.

  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with families, teachers, and school staff.

  • Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and licensing requirements.

  • Perform other classroom-related duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or school administration.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with young children preferred.

  • A caring, patient, and positive approach to working with children.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Dependable, responsible, and able to work collaboratively with a Lead Teacher.

  • Ability to create a warm and supportive environment for young children.

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

  • Required education and childcare credentials will be based on applicable school and state requirements.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children, is eager to learn, and works well as part of a teaching team. They should be nurturing, energetic, patient, and willing to actively participate in all aspects of the classroom while supporting the Lead Teacher and helping every child feel safe, valued, and successful.
