Director of Jewish After School Program 

Temple Beth El is a vibrant Reform synagogue in Bloomfield Hills with 900+ member families. TBE is Michigan’s first Jewish congregation and has been a leader in the Reform movement for generations. Temple Beth El (TBE) in Bloomfield Hills, MI is looking for a caring and talented leader with a passion for working with children and their families to direct a new Jewish After School Program for grades K-5.  

Temple Beth El’s Jewish After School Program will be a joyful place for kids to play and learn. We will offer the services of a premium after school program with a full, experiential Jewish learning curriculum. We seek an energetic leader ready to hit the ground running to build our program which will launch in fall of 2026.  

The Afterschool Director is responsible for many aspects of launching and running our new dynamic after school enrichment program. This includes marketing to raise awareness about the program, creating infrastructure for procedures, working with curriculum and lesson planning, hiring, developing and managing the teaching team, parent communications and engagement, enrollment, and student management.   

The successful candidate will possess the following:  

  • A proven record of working effectively with children and families 
  • Experience in planning and implementing Jewish programming 
  • Excellent administrative skills, including finance and scheduling 
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
  • Some business or nonprofit program administration experience 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field 

Hours: This is a full-time, salaried position. 

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience.
