About Global Village Connect
Global Village Connect is a nonprofit organization with a mission to connect communities by developing practical solutions that improve education and economic opportunity. Our current initiatives focus on supporting business training training, community business grants, and supporting school scholarships. We work closely with local leaders, donors, and partner organizations to create meaningful, sustainable impact.

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and mission-driven Development & Strategic Growth Manager who will work closely with various Board members for a 6-month leadership transition period. This role is designed for someone who can step into the Executive Director position, assuming full leadership responsibilities by the end of the transition.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in fundraising and donor engagement, and a passion for international development. They must be ready to lead a small but impactful organization through its next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Fundraising (Immediate focus)

  • Lead fundraising strategy, including annual campaigns, major donor cultivation, grant writing, and special appeals
  • Strengthen donor relationships and build new funding streams
  • Manage donor communications, impact reports, and acknowledgments
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities (e.g., foundations, corporate sponsorships)

Organizational Leadership (Growth into ED Role)

  • Work with the Executive Director on strategy, budgeting, and operations
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations, board members, and stakeholders
  • Provide oversight to international programs in Uganda in coordination with local staff
  • Support compliance, reporting, and financial oversight
  • Represent Global Village Connect publicly and foster engagement with key constituencies
  • Programs & Communications

    • Collaborate on storytelling, newsletters, social media, and other marketing efforts
    • Track program outcomes and ensure timely reporting to funders and stakeholders
    • Help develop new program ideas in alignment with organizational goals and community needs

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, or development strategy
    • Strong leadership skills with interest or experience in executive-level responsibilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven ability to manage projects independently and work collaboratively with a small team
    • Passion for international development, social justice, or community-led change
    • Experience working with communities in the Global South is a plus
    • Grant writing and reporting experience strongly preferred

    Compensation
    Salary range is commensurate with experience and structured with growth in mind as the candidate transitions into the Executive Director role. Benefits are negotiable.
