Program Associate, Jewish Teen Learning Connection
The Program Associate supports JTConnect’s Jewish teen education programs through program coordination, teaching, and engagement to create meaningful Jewish learning and community experiences across Greater Hartford. This position reports to the Executive Director.

What You Will Do 

Program Oversight & Teaching – 60%

  • Oversee program logistics, including materials, registration, attendance tracking, and staff communication.
  • Manage recruitment goals, program evaluations, and coordination with the Executive Director.
  • Plan and execute two annual signature programs, overseeing logistics and serving as lead staff. Just two?
  • Collaborates with part-time Site Coordinators to ensure continuity of weekly programming.
  • Teach 2-3 weekly experiential Jewish Education classes for 8th-12th graders during the program year.
  • Collaborate and co-run our week-long Summer of Service program, including Jewish learning, social action programs, and afternoon social activities.

Teen & Community Engagement – 20%

  • Facilitate group-based teen engagement at JTConnect programs and community events.
  • Support teen participation in Jewish learning, leadership, and peer-based community opportunities.
  • Engage the Greater Hartford Jewish community through participation in community programs and by building relationships with Jewish organizations, lay leaders, parents, and community members.

Program Development, Communication & Administration – 20%

  • Support curriculum development, recruitment, and program communications.
  • Assist with newsletters, social media, fundraising campaigns, and general administrative tasks.
  • Maintain adherence to organizational policies and professional boundaries.

What You’ll Bring To The Job

  • 0-3 years relevant experience in teen engagement (e.g., youth groups, camp, college Jewish communal programs, or similar settings) 
  • Passion for Jewish education and teen engagement, with experience working with teens, families, and community partners.
  • Enthusiasm for leading and organizing a variety of teen programs and experiences, with meaningful experience participating in or supporting youth activities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage teens, families, and community partners one-on-one and in group settings.
  • Experience in platforms such as Canva preferred.

What You’ll Receive 

  • Full-time salary of $45,000-$50,000 per year, with a work schedule that includes Sunday mornings and weekday evenings to support teen programs.
  • Health insurance, four weeks paid vacation, paid holidays (including Jewish holidays), and CT Family Medical Leave. Flexibility to leave early for Shabbat.
  • Primarily an in-person role, with remote work possible as approved by the Executive Director.
  • Professional Development fund to support individual growth.

 

The position is full-time, on-site starting July 1, 2026 and is based in West Hartford, CT.
