Moishe House is seeking a Senior Director of North American House & Pod Programs to provide strategic, visionary, and accountability leadership to those who work with our Houses and Pods, defining success through growth, high quality, and innovation. The Senior Director proactively identifies challenges and opportunities within Houses and Pods and communicates the plan for addressing them. This position requires significant experience in supervision, managing performance, developing employees, project management, and developing and implementing strategies for large, multi-team programs.

  • You have comprehensive knowledge of and personal experience with Moishe House (preferred)
  • You’ll lead the North American House & Pod programsincluding direct supervision and performance management of the North American Director and Associate Director of House Programs, Associate Director of House Support, and the Global Expansion Director, with troubleshooting, team-building, training, policy development, and strategy.
  • You’ll lead the team toward achieving the prescribed net annual growth of new Moishe Houses and Pods, while continually evaluating risk and remediation for the North American House Programs
  • You’ll develop strategy and implementation for resident training in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Russian-Speaking communities, in collaboration with the Global Houses team
  • You’ll represent the Houses program for Moishe House and Program Teamwith visioning, strategic planning, and implementation
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years full-time post-undergraduate professional experience, including 5 years full-time supervisory experience and two years full-time experience with a nonprofit organization. Four years of additional professional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree requirement
  • You have experience with developing employees and performance management, preferably multiple staffing levels, including coaching, providing feedback, and creating environments where employees can be at their best
  • You have measurable experience in leading groups of people toward sustained success, and managing a departmental or program budget with full fiscal responsibility

  • You have experience taking significant calculated risks and learning from unexpected situations when things don’t turn out as planned
  • You are eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and able to travel as needed within North America
The Fine Print:

The Senior Director of House & Pod Programs supervises up to 6 employees, reports directly to the Chief Program Officer, and is located in a Moishe House Hub Office (Encinitas, CA, Charlotte, Chicago, NYC, or Washington, DC.). The position is full-time and requires regular weekday office hours plus occasional weekends or evenings, and travel to complete job requirements.

Beginning in early 2022, we’re excited to be returning to a hybrid work schedule at our Hub Offices, where employees can choose to work remotely 2 days per week and collaborate in-person with coworkers the rest of the week (Wednesday will be a day we are all in the office together!). Employees will receive prior notice in advance of starting this new schedule.

How Moishe House Pays You:
  • Moishe House’s starting salary ranges are based on education, experience, location, and skillset required for each role
  • Starting salary range for this position:
    • Charlotte, NC: $90k – $97k
    • Chicago, DC, and Encinitas: $93k – $100k
    • NYC: $98k – $105k
  • Annual merit-based salary increase
