Operations Manager

Temple Beth Shalom is a thriving Conservative synagogue and a warm, welcoming community. We are seeking an Operations Manager to support our Executive Director and Senior Rabbi, playing a key role in ensuring that our synagogue runs smoothly and feels inviting to all who walk through our doors.

The Operations Manager will bring entrepreneurial energy to manage the daily operational and administrative rhythms of TBS, while also helping to build and sustain a vibrant, growing community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to help guide Temple Beth Shalom into its next chapter.

General Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the Executive Director to support day-to-day building operations and assist with planning and coordinating synagogue events and programs
• Serve as a welcoming and friendly presence at Temple Beth Shalom by greeting current and prospective members and vendors
• Respond thoughtfully and professionally to correspondence and emails from members, vendors, staff, and contractors
• Create and manage email communications, including the e-newsletter, event promotions, and program announcements through Constant Contact & Canva
• Help develop and distribute engaging promotional materials for print and social media, including flyers, announcements, and other communications
• Collaborate with clergy, staff, and committees to improve workflow, strengthen communication, and implement synagogue policies and procedures
• Support synagogue committees and volunteers in bringing meaningful programs and events to life

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong customer service skills and a warm, professional communication style
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, community-focused environment
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team
• Self-starter with curiosity, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with synagogue life & the Jewish community is a plus

Compensation

Salary Range: $54K-60K.  We offer a competitive compensation package that includes vacation time and a contribution toward Temple Beth Shalom’s health insurance plan.
