CHIEF GRANTS OFFICER

  

Position Summary:

A NYC-based foundation is seeking a Chief Grants Officer with the following qualifications and experience:

 

Qualifications:

  • The right fit for this top-tier position must have demonstrated long-term tenure in a previous job as a senior executive.
  • Minimum of 10 years of executive, top-level experience in grants management or foundation leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree and graduate degree required.
  • Must have expertise in the following:
    • Grant initiation
    • Budgeting analysis
    • Compliance
    • Grant Development
    • Managing funding cycles

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the COO in the end-to-end grantmaking process by working with grant teams to review priorities, manage grant budgets, analyze grantee financial health, and ensure compliance with systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and support grantmaking staff responsible for specific grant sectors.
  • Lead and participate in proposal review and due diligence processes.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of grant records, documentation, and reporting systems.
  • Monitor grantee compliance with grant agreements and reporting requirements.
  • Work with the senior management to shape and refine the foundation’s grantmaking strategy and long-term priorities.

The Chief Grants Officer will be at the top tier of the C-Suite and will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors to ensure excellence, integrity, and strategic alignment across all grantmaking activities.

  

 

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Hybrid work schedule (currently 3 days in the NY office; subject to change).
  • Exceptional benefits package
  • Annual salary of $250,000.00+, commensurate with experience
